Most gas cylinders have some sort of overpressure failsafe. If not the
cylinder is unlikely to fracture, more likely the valve will blow out. Since
this is generally about half a kilo of steel, make sure it points at teh
roof, or a solid wall not the internal if you are worried.

On a side not if you ever get the chance to see the fire testing of calor
gas cylinders (the big ones ~ 20 litres & up) it's top. They build a big
fire round em, & let them burn, at some point presure gets to high & the
contents is release giving a massive jet of flame (which I suppose
fortunately, though less entertainingly won't happen with CO2)
