My thoughts now turn to IR, obviously I'll need to use it but where would the best place to put it be? With the light switches, with the CAT5 outlets? in the ceiling?

If you are using the Xantech gear, just about anywhere Neil, the reception is great on the RX units. I can point the Pronto in the rough direction of the opposite wall from one receiver from outside the room and the IR is still received just fine. I would imagine that Mr Doxey has the problem pretty much sorted in that regard too! ;)

One thing to watch is interference as I was talking to Nigel about earlier.
