Reminds me of when I was connecting the aerial lead to the TV card in
my computer. I thought I felt something when I touched the plug and
there was a nice spark when it came near the case. Luckily nothing
exploded. I think the TV was on at the time and turning it off
resolved it.

Am I right in thinking that TVs are not generally earthed via the
mains? Should the shield of the aerial cable be earthed somewhere? It
may be earthed via the PC now.
