Fair point.
I doubt anyone would begrudge someone making an honest crust, but does
Madonna (not that I am suggesting for one minute that she is a true
artist:-)) _really_ need 50 million to carry on? Hell - did Mariah Carrey
need 20 million to _stop_? It's the greed that annoys me - though I don't
know if things like the mobile ring tones is pushed by the record cos/PRS
because they are greedy for royalties, or because the artists are pushing
them to stir it up..... I mean ffs - if I've got the latest chart topper on
my phone, chances are I have the CD too - how many times should I have to
pay for the same piece of music?

For the record, I h8 mobile ringtones that are anything other than a polite
'beep', but it's the principle here - many sites offered free ringtones so
you could personalise your phone. Nobody is making money on this. Now
many
of these sites have gone & I don't hear the latest chart toppers around
the
office any more (thank god!), so the licensed ringone sellers aren't
getting
any money either.
Hey - less annoying office environment - why am I complaining? I'll shut
up
now :-)

Tony
