MICROSOFT
MOVE INTO THE DVD PLAYER MARKET
It's CES
(Consumer Electronics Show) time again, as the world's consumer electronics
companies gather to show off their latest innovations. One of the most
interesting announcements from this year's show so far, DVD-wise, has come
from
Microsoft. The software giant has joined forces with four of the world's
largest DVD manufacturers to incorporate Windows Media Audio technologies
into
their DVD players. Panasonic, Toshiba, Apex and China's Shinco
have all signed a deal to produce players featuring Windows Media Audio
software,
allowing them to play back 22 hours of music stored in the Windows Media
format
