I don't think your card is playing up, mine is also an Orinoco Silver, I don't have WEP enabled but still have the same problem, let me know if you find a cure.

I'm not using WEP either. I prefer the idea of hard coded MAC address access (and I couldn't get WEP to work anyway :-))

Maybe I need to buy another PCMCIA card to figure out if its the AP or Orinoco playing up.
