Re: Wireless LAN question

Title: Message
I'm using the WAP11 as well.

I have spoken to Linksys but they couldn't offer any useful advice. They were keen to blame the PCMCIA card (no surprise there!) The Orinoco card was SH so I don't really have any where to turn there.

Most of the settings in the WAP config are default. I'm not sure what the DHCP should be on, maybe that's the problem.
At one point I thought it was the channel setting as the Orinoco seems to like channel 3, so I changed that on the AP but it made no difference.

I have to agree with Mark, what AP are you using. Mark and Me both use the Linksys unit. When using DHCP there is a delay on power on, perhaps 4-5 seconds before the link is up

Dunno what to suggest Justin but that's definitely NOT "just the way it is".  I find the wireless LAN works faultlessly...especially with he Orinoco cards.

Do any of you guys have these sorts of problems with wireless LANs? Is that
just the way it is?
