To be honest, I don't know about the Leviton commands, I do know that
off the Leviton wall switches I have, the LD11's work fine off them. I
would assume that the Leviton command set is aimed primarily at Leviton
modules although I honestly don't know for sure.

I don't think that the X10 commands are incompatible as such, they may
just not provide the functionality required in every instance.

The CM12 is fine, I've played about with one, but gives nowhere near the
level of control offered by a dedicated controller. I cannot remember
whether it offered the "set to level **" command though or did
the
extended X10 commands, someone on this group is bound to know.
