If you guys look at MrHouse (http://misterhouse.net:8080) one of
the things
it can do is give you details of a barcode by looking up the data online.

There are many many websites that will let you search by ISBN, including:

Amazon.com
borders.com
barnes&noble.com
price-hunter.net

Other sites will return data for most barcodes you care to scan into it:

barpoint.com
upcdatabase.com

I have a DVD database set up at the moment
(http://garner.smgsystems.co.uk/opendb/)
and I plan to add to this to search
various sites for details of the film, after scanning the barcode, instead
of
having to title serach.
