Sorry I couldn't help myself :-)

Can you not get wiring to go from the actual doorbell to a Power Flash
module or similar then send an X10 signal to your controller? I looked
at wireless doorbells but none seemed suitable for the task, well
integration to the HA setup anyway, so I opted for the hard-wired
approach which IMO is more reliable anyway.

Or another plan is to use a PR511 and get it to alert you when someone
approaches the door.

Just a couple of ideas.
