RE: Door Bells anyone?

S'okay - I would have done the same in your shoes!

Nope. It has to be wireless, otherwise I have to run a wire over a door
frame, along the skirting (which is oiled wood so white cable will show up
very easily) or ceiling, then around the stairs and into node 0 - the
nearest power point to the door :(

Integration is nice to have definitely, but not absolutely essential -
reliability is more important from SWMBO's POV :-)

Hmm... nice thought - but what do ppl do when they get to the door?
Culturally, ppl are used to knocking or ringing & if no door bell then
no
good.
Also, what happens when SWMBO is upstairs changing sprogs in back room? No
good if light downstairs flashes or something to alert her to ppl @ the
door.
House is not automated enough (or indeed at all, as still 'playing' with
the
various X10 bits I have) or indeed wired in such a manner that I can
usefully use DIN rail modules so for example _all_ lights flash when
someone
approaches door......

thx for suggestions anyway.

Tony
