Also, you cant sign for the delivery.

The homeport solution can accept upto 3 deliveries per day, and to release
the deliveries you have to swipe your personal smart card. This is the
equivalent of signing for them.

Only problem is its not supported by Parcel Force, yet.

.... and someone can nick your padlock...

All you need is a secure metal box with a decent padlock on it.
Leave the padlock attached but not locked.  The delivery man pops it
in the box and clicks the padlock closed, which you open with the key
when you get home..

Read that as a metaphor for PGP encryption once and though it was a
great idea..
