Depending on how paranoind you are, a couple of 'minor' problems with this:

- What happens if the delivery man takes the receipt but doesn't leave the
parcel?
You then have nothing, but the delivery co has 'proof' that you received
the item :(

- Delivery man leaves item, takes receipt, cunning thief nips in within the
5 minute time
frame and nicks parcel - again, you have nothing :(

As you say, you could record activity in the conservatory for the entire
time the door is open and the house is in 'away' mode, though it would have
to be good enough quality to demonstrate that it really was the delivery
guy
who took the receipt & kept the parcel, rather than someone just
re-enacting
the scene to defraud said co.

I'm sure this is overly paranoid, but you never know.  Have had loads of
trouble with missing DVD's in the post  and supposedly signed for items not
being signed for etc so am perhaps more cautious than most.....
