Re: OT : Plumbing help as well

For a powerful (if your mains pressure is good) and quiet shower without
hot water storage in the loft, I had a Megaflo unit installed in my old
house. Provides hot water at mains pressure. There is quite a lot of
information on them at www.discountheatingsupplies.co.uk.

In the house I'm building at the moment, I'm having something similar
but smarter from a company called Chelmer Heating Services
(www.chelmerheating.co.uk). It is a combined buffer tank for underfloor
heating and thermalstore for hot water. It can also take more than one
heat input, so I can use a very efficient heatpump as supply of
principle but low-grade heat at the base of the thermalstore - to
provide moderate-temperature water to the underfloor heating, and then
use a boiler to provide top-up heating injected nearer the top of the
thermalstore (where the hot water coils are) to bring the hot water
supply up to temperature as efficiently as possible.

I haven't installed it yet, so I can't report on how well it works, but
I love the concept, and the fact it is designed and made in the UK.

Cheers,

Bruno Prior
