Re: Home networking without NetBios
i haven't had time to read everyone elses replies so i hope i'm not
going over the same thing as someone else.
I've just setup a wireless network at home using an old computer at
home running windows 2000 server with a wireless card with my ADSL
modem installed on that machine. I use my laptop around the
house
which also has a wirelss card.
i'm using microsoft file and print sharing (not tcp/ip) and i have no
problems at all (this is actually my first message on the new setup).
it works very well and i use terminal services to access the server
(saves having a big monitor and mouse/keyboard lying around) via my
laptop.
it didn't cost to much to get up and running, but then i did have a
spare computer lying around.
let me know if anyone wants any more information.
Regards
Ronnie Allan
