Cool.  There's no (published) support tools for XP, but a quick(ish) search of
the help provided the 'taskkill' command, so the following format will kill
wmplayer:

taskkill /f /im wmplayer.exe

Hi Pete,

What you need first off is kill.exe which is in Win 98 and 2000 resource
kits, and is on the windows 2000 CD as well, or so
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q246926 says anyway!
.... not sure where on XP, possibly a similar place, trying searching through
.cab files for kill.exe

Once you have it, its easy peasy....

kill -f wmplayer.exe

(-f for force, like -9 in *nix)
