Re: Homeseer (or HA) Internet Access
Robert,
I've done several things in this respect...
1) The Homeseer Webserver is not IIS, so that's a big plus for starters, as
it's not going to be subject to all the usual IIS exploits.
2) I've changed the Homeseer webserver to a non-standard port number.
3) I Have my cable routers built-in firewall enabled... and doing NAT and
PAT.
4) I've turned on password control and full logging on the Homeseer
webserver.
5) I've turned on the timeout disconnect settign in Homeseers webserver.
6) I've got up-to-date AV software on my Homeseer PC, with scriptblocking
turned on.
I've stopped short of installing a personal firewall on that box, as I just
haven't had enough time. - I may get around to that one day....
