Thanks for the info.

I've was thinking along very similar lines to these - in fact I was
discussing router-built-in firewalls with drochaid on IRC last night....

My home network will be part NAT, part non-NAT...the DSL router
obviously working in a non-NAT mode - and so was tentatively planning on
having my Homeseer system on one of the statically routed IP addresses.

(Actually, maybe I should move this discussion over to
UKHA_Networking...)

Still your tips on Homeseer look useful - I'll need to look more closely
this evening.
