That's a coincidence - I've just written a prototype that displays caller ID from a modified BT CD50 on my new AudioTron!

Using a socket connection between the Perl and VB app is a good solution - I've used it quite a bit, often when separating the GUI from the backend.

I had thought of just posting a network packet from the Perl app to VB which would seem to accomplish what I want - is this a sensible cheap, quick and dirty alternative??

Can I easily use COM/DCOM to send something from Perl to VB ? or again will I need to buy the toolkit.
