I use a slightly modified version of (i think) Paul Gordon's winamp
control which is scripted. An appliance module on the amp in the bedroom
comes on just after winamp starts playing.

SWMBO hates it (epecially being woken up by ACDC or the like) but the
other option is the local radio station that plays "Tie a yellow ribbon"
every single morning at the same time, and she hates that more.
