Hi All
Firstly i must say that the xAP software project looks quite interesting , good to see all the software guru,s  doing their stuff ( mind boggling to me ). I hope the pace can be maintained if so everyone will benefit from the results. Would have liked to get involved in the hardware but looks like Avr is the choice , maybe next time ..................not to worry

Anyway doing a small project for one of the list members who has a serial driven video switcher and also a serial driven audio switcher .  He would like it to be able to control it using ir and also hv i/o...
So im making a little pic driven interface unit which will convert the ir signal (sony format) and convert to rs232 commands for the switcher................Also as stated there will be opto isolated signals (3 off ) that can be used to select the 1 of 8  and (1 off) strobe signal . At the moment just putting together the hardware , hopefully tomorrow start coding.More soon..................
