Re: BioLogin 3 & Compaq Fingerprint Readers

Dear Group,
What I believe you require is the BioLogon SDK, which allows you to interface with BioLogon and the DFR-200(?) drivers to use the fingerprint scanner in your own applications, for, well, whatever. You need to contact

Bannerbridge PLC – Neil Kinsman – 0870 870 1220

for information and pricing regarding this. Last time I check it was £130. Oh, and b.t.w., if you do buy it, could you let me have a look, cos there's no other way I'm gonna get hold of it - my income is severely limited.

Yours Sincerely,

Lee Edward Causier.

I sort of half got mine for this.... I got 2, one of which I use at
work, which is f'ing excellent..... I just run the workstation based
stuff, and use it to login to the domain, unlock when I get back to my
desk, login to my email, remember passwords for certain web pages etc,
etc - its great for that!

I've also got one in the house, connected to the laptop, but due to the
size of the parallel port connector, it always manages to stab me in the
knees, so spends most of its time disconnected.

So my conclusions are - fab in office type environments, currently
questionable at home.

Should really look at doing something to interface to them, rather than
just using the Biologin login replacement and Bioshield password
rememberer, but its on the looooooooooooong todo list :)

Doogie
