sky+ if you want:
- dolby digital
- watch one sky channel, record another
- no loss in quality (apart from, of course, the drop from On Digital to Sky
:))
- a tenner a month extra for life
- to be tied to sky forever to use this service

TiVo if you want:
- independence from either sky or On Digital
- can only watch a different analogue channel whislt recording a digital one
(until they switch analogue off in about 10 yrs time!)
- a mature(ish) technology
- recompression of an already compressed stream
- stereo/pro logic only
- a tenner a month extra for life or a one off 200 quid payment

HTH.

Tony

PS: Still trying to decide myself which to go for.
Have On Dig and normal SKY Dig.
