There are *my* thoughts as a TiVo owner....

TiVo
+Records suggestions based on your preferences
+TiVo has "Wishlists" to search for your fav actors, subjects etc=
+Cheap at around =A3200
+Lifetime sub available - one off payment of =A3200 (tied to lifetime of th= e
box)
+Software seems to be mature now
+TiVo has two weeks worth or EPG info

-No digital audio out
-Sky/ITV Digital tuners not built in
-HDrives upgradeable, but it seems complicated

SKY+
+Easier to upgrade hard drives than TiVo
+Can record one Sky channel whilst watching another
+Gets EPG thru sat not phone line (I think)
+Can output digital audio inc Dolby Digital
+Records actual MPEG stream

-Need new LNB and TWO cabbles from dish to box
-No intelligent recording of suggestions
-No lifetime sub option - pay Sky ANOTHER =A310 a month for ever
-Can only be used with Sky
