All the stepdown transformers I have ever bought have being auto
transformers. Some places sell ones that are isolating, but they have no
connection to the secondary at all (Floating) - small ones are
wonderfull for solving ground loop problems with audio where cutting the
earth just seems wrong.

What exactly is a site transformer? How does it differ from a normal
(isolated) one?
