Its intended to mask the sound of the fan itself as they tend to be quite noisy however since it is going to be used to evacuate air from the projector enclosure and from the equipment enclosure then I might be able to get away without the loft box without being audible inside the AV room. Of course the other thing that this extractor will be doing is drawing stale air from the room itself via the equipment enclosures. > Where are you getting the fan from ? is it expensive.
