Stuart,

The reason that IE is sending you there is that it's got lop.com written into it's "Seach Page Setting".

Rather annoyingly, you can't change this through the GUI, you can only reset it to the MS default using "Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings"

That also resets your home page, so you'll need to reset that afterwards.... If you think ahead, you can copy it into the cut/paste buffer just before you do the reset ;-)

Regards,

Mark

OK, wtf is going on here.

My netscape 6 install now has lop.com as it's homepage, and every time IE
can't find a page with either a DNS or 404 not found error, it automatically
redirects to lop.com It even installed itself as my Active desktop on XP.

lop.com seems to be some kind of "adult directory", ie spam central. I can
guess where it's come from, but I can't find any trace of it. They have
uninstall instructions on their website, but gues what ... :-)

Anyone else seen this little bit of turdware and any ideas on how to get rid?
