Hmm..
 
The relay I was using has a coil rated at 230VAC :(
 
That being said, now I think about it, the problem I had was not when the coil was energised: this correctly closed the curtains.
The problem was when the thing was turned *off* at this point, the relay chattered like crazy, as if it didn't actually switch off correctly.
 
I'll experiment with a bridge rectifier here, hope i don't incinerate the relay... :)

I *thought* the relay I was using had an AC coil.. I'll have another rummage

Some time ago, Ian Lowe was working on putting a DPDT relay on the out
output of an AM12 to use discrete control of the swish K400 motors.  He
found that the relay just "chattered" which we thought was down to the local
control on the module.

Now I've had an idea.  Could it be down to the fact that the output is AC??
Therefore would putting a simply bridge rectifier across the output before
the relay coil sort the problem, or am I just barking up the wrong tree??
