Yep...I would dearly LOVE ADSL but have no
chance
for the foreseeable future. BT rang me at work yesterday - one of
those
lovely "courtesy" calls - and whil ehtey were on I asked if there was any
way I
could find out when/if my rural exchange was planned to be ADSL
enabled.
He said he only had the Yes/No info that's available on the website when
you put
in your phone number.
I suspect they are enabling areas like this in
Glasgow so they don't serve the business community and therefore don't lose
their leased line revenue.
Thing is, I would, of course, swicth to broadband in a
*second* if they would get their fingers out and install it anywhere
other
than in run-down housing schemes full of junkies....
Whoever
planned
BT's rollout on ADSL in Scotland is a complete fool. As I have commented
previously, three of the areas so far enabled are Govan, Easterhouse and
Halfway, which between them have enough disposable income to buy half a
bottle of buckfast tonic wine a
night...
