I've previously mentioned that I'm in the early planning stages for
any automation/networking of our new house.

I've been thinking about whether we need X10 and how it could be
used. One possibility is automation on hall and landing lights. There
may well be PIRs there for security so I'm thinking these could be
used to switch on the lights when people are about. This could cut
energy usage and save having to put lots of switches in. There will
be one switch panel for each as an override.

It would be really neat to have low level light at night to avoid
being blinded during midnight forays to the bathroom. This mode could
be linked to a 'night mode' on the control system.

I'm still thinking of using Comfort.

Has anyone set up something like this? Perhaps you would care to
share some diagrams with us. Is there somewhere already with example
wiring diagrams?

I may see if I can make it to the potential meeting next week. I'll
bring along our plans to try and get some inspiration.

Steve
