Just in case anyone was interested, I now have a win2k machine functioning as my answer phone WITH caller id.

Software:-

Hacked version of hayes drivers that work
Callsoft

Hardware
Hayes Accura 56k external modem with caller id

Had to hack around in the hayes drivers to make them work, but this may just be an issue under win2k, I've no idea if they already work under 98 etc.

Callsoft is pretty nice, allows forwarding thru email with mp3 encoding of message, and individual answering messages per phonebook entry, so my family get a different greating.

Not bad so far, but long term stability currently unknown,(Only got it working yesterday)

Jason
