RE: DDAR - Gone ?
Title: RE: [ukha_d] DDAR - Gone ?
Once
again thank you Graham, I know the pains I went through with the
ToughBooks I brought in.
I think
we are all very keen to get our DDAR's and if there is any way of
reserving the units with Dell that would be very comforting, the
actual arrival date is much less important to me than knowing that
they will get here eventually - would they take a deposit perhaps
?
Speaking for myself if it makes it much easier for you then
suffering an extra 5% is not a big deal.
Lastly
- I was in the US and tried to order goods for delivery to my Hotel by
mail order using a credit card. The company refused to do this on the
basis of security - this mechanism is apparently used to obtain goods
with just credit card numbers so is now a no no. Just trying to
pre-empt another deal breaker

I went on the Dell US site and
simulated an order to check the tax they
would calculate. For delivery to (Medford New Jersey 08055) for an
Inspiron
laptop at $2,097.00 the tax was $21.54. Go figure! I did not try
other
combinations.
