How about this Mark, first check your existing converters to see how they
are wired (which of the 8 wires from RJ45 connects to which of the 6 in the
BT socket) then cut the BT plug and a bit of wire from your telephone and
map the wires in the lead to the pins on the BT socket. Once this is done
you should be able to map the wires on the phone lead to the pins in the
RJ45 socket and therefore attach an RJ45 plug directly.

P.S. This approach will work but I still use adapters because I couldn't be
bothered to do it for my phones (I got the adapters free!).
