I see that Keene do an S-Video distribution amp for about £120 ... expensive but not too scarily so.

        If you can mount the KAT5 very close t the AV amp (or source) you might be able t remove a terminating resistor in the KAT5 - this might be a try it and see what effect it has scenario - is this a possibility Keith ?
        I guess any device that avoided the line becoming double terminated by devices is going t have t impedance balance/buffer in some way and hence not be inexpensive, particularly if it has t be an active design.
        Or you could put 1 KAT5 transmitter and tw receivers on - costs you just the extra receiver.

Anyone know where I can find an S-Video splitter at a reasonable price that
won't double terminate the line? (£200 is not a reasonable price by the
way!)

I need t split a single S-Video output t go t my AV amp *AND* t a KAT5
feeding the TV upstairs.
