I have connected my HomeVision t  my PC using CAT5 over approx 20m. I
purchased the following RJ45 t  9-pin D from RS and connected all
pins except pin 9 (Ring Indicator).

447-667  Connector,datacomms,8 way RJ45-9way D plug
447-673  Connector,datacomms,8 way RJ45-9way D socket
