You forgot "bargain hunter, wife deceiver"... *grin*

Yeah ... I'll agree that the Panny plasma of Tims is a bit of a gem ... pricey but well worth it if that's what you're after.

I've got the Panny plasma its a peach. Don't take my word for it, ask Phil (plasma hater, cat killer) Harris.

My IR743 is located around 3 feet away from the screen, and I have no problems.

Tim.

Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of planning/installing a HA and I'll probably be posting lots of questions in the near future.
At the moment I'm working out what I need for my AV installation.  I've seen a few threads regarding Plasma screens affecting and interfering with IR receivers.  I'm looking at using a Panasonic Plasma screen and a Buffalo IR receiver in the same room.  This receiver will be the most important receiver in the house since all the AV equipment will be at Node 0, so I don't want to find I've got lots of problems when I've finished plastering!  If I place the IR receiver on the same wall directly beneath the screen do you think I'll get any interference?
The plasma screen has its own IR receiver - but I suspect that it will either operate on a 'safe' modulated frequency or (hopefully) relies on the fact that the IR pickup is recessed so it can't see the screen.

Simon
