Ahhhh . I had assumed an external aerial or at least dangly wire - don't know what the docs say but the rf o/p stage might be happier as well with something on it.

Unless the aerial is external you must use a Plastic case otherwise the
signal will never get out of the box!!!

The Wallwart Paul bought is identical t the KAT5 PSU's in all but price.
When set t 9V they produce about 12.77V off load and this drops as the load
current increases. KAT5 has internal voltage regulation and polarity
protection t avoid these sort of problems and allow cheaper power supplies
t be used.
