Sorry i'm late catching this thread, I get the daily digest and don't
get things till there are 25 responses in total.

You would also need a backup battery.

If you just want to program the system, then the UCMCSX is all you
need. However, we will phase out the UCMDEV kit, because the latest
Comfort's are being supplied with the firmware which was supplied
with the UCMDEV which means that you have the RS232 support(for own
apps) on the standard Comfort panels and when combined with the
UCMCSX.

Yes we have around 100 variables called action codes which provide a
lot of conditional functionlity on zones, alarms, mode changes and in
time programs and vacation programs etc.
