Hi,
So I've had time to look at the .NET this
lunchtime
and find that I've been following the T568B pionouts my wiring,
I'm
thinking that maybe the Clipsal is marked for T568A, therefore it never
would
have worked. Well its somewhere to start anyway :-) Here's
a
link to the site I used http://stresscow.org/~jfuller/rj45/rj45.htm
You really miss having access to the internet
when
your connection is down, I'll let you know tomorrow if it
worked!

Clipsal
I see, this is great news for me, Darren says
he
had hassle and Mark says he has no colour coding on his sockets. I
deduce that I'm not mad, there is a light at the end of the
tunnel and need to look at this problem in more depth.
Thanks all!

My Clipsal sockets don't have ANY colour codes
on them? I had to work it out too. Numbers/colours at home as
well.

Clipsal
Phil,
I wired up my first Clipsal CAT5e
connector last week and had the same problem. Whilst your RJ45
connector is wired correctly the colour codings on the back of the
Clipsal seem to be either wrong or for a totally different standard. I
worked it out eventually and wrote the right configuration down but I
don't have it with me at the moment. When I get home I'll post what I
found unless someone else here beats me to
it.
Regards, Darren

started on putting CAT5 in walls, started off fine, ended with
frustration. My problem seems to stem from my inability to wire
a Clipsal CAT5e connector, I wired up a length of CAT5 with an RJ45
connector at one end and the clipsal jobbie at the other, plugged my
KAT 5 units in either end, managed to get sound, buzz and wobbly
"picture". OK, lets attempt to fix this step by step I

network cable; perfect picture and sound. So I decided to chop
one end of the "known good" network cable off and wire it to the
clipsal, again I get the same symptons buzz, sound and a wobbly
picture. After some number of attempts to fix it and lacking a
working internet connection, I gave up. > > Can
anyone offer words of advice? I realise there are 8 strands of
cable, so there is the likelyhood that I've got something wired
incorrectly. The RJ45 connector is wired, from Pin
