Saw this concept ... utilising SmartCards with inductive Card Readers at
doorways, etc, .... in use in a Lab in Cambridge some ten years ago.
Included auto locator / routing fone calls to extn nearest to person /
log-on to LAN at nearest m/c,  and so on.  Neat.
Never seen it in commercial production/deployment.
