Without giving too much away, we have door sensors on the main entry/exit
doors. However, Andrew at Comfort reckoned door sensors are inherently
unreliable and easily defeated, so perhaps best not relied on for security.

Having said that it is useful from an HA point of view since we use ours to
turn off the doorbell alarm type when we answer the door - door bell rings
all house phones for 30s to indicate someone at the door; activity in the
hall way or opening the front door cancels the ringing if 30s has not
elapsed.

I reckon door sensors on internal doors would be even more useful: like
setting off a klaxon if we go to bed and leave the door to conservatory
open
(=kitchen freezing in the morning) ;-(. However, guess who didn't run
enough
cable when we had the kitchen done last year :-(
