I dont see how they can stop you copying a film to videotape.

The only method I can think of is Macrovision and there are several
circuits knocking around to build Macrovision strippers (must attempt it
one day). The video signal has to be viewable on a TV so by connecting to a
VCR via a Macrovison stripper should enable you to copy anything.

It will stop Joe Public just taping the film and giving it to all and
sundry but I dont see it as too much of a problem for the combined skills
of this group. :-)

and before anyone say anything.......the first KAT5 PCB designs are ready
to go to the manufacturer, just need to get a day off to go and visit them.

This is Skys long-awaited version of TiVo (Sky are TiVos European
partners).
