Doh!

Sorry, didn't have my thinking-head on last night...

Stuart, it should be very easy to interface my system to the PC with
a PNP transistor and a couple of resistors.  I'll probably want to do
it myself, if you aren't in a rush email me your address and I'll
make a couple and post you one when it's working!  Basically, 2k7
resistor from the bus to the transistor base, 4k7 from collector to
+12V, emitter to 0V, take the output from the collector, if that's
enough to get you started...

Pretty much any PNP transistor should do- again it's just an arm-wavy
back-of-the-envelope design, but might be enough to be going on with!

Actually, having thought about it, it's ringing a bell as being the
same system that winamp can use for IR control- are there any folk
here using winamp for Windows based jukeboxes etc who have info about
the IR control plugin?
