Seriously ... Don't tell NTL that there's anything there that they wouldn't
expect to find. Make them mugs of tea and just play it dumb.

Once they have you a terminated connection to their network in a box on the
inside of your designated wall you can then do what you want inside your
own
house once they've gone.

Just make sure you don't ignore any comments like:

"Ere Dave, wass this wire for?"

"Dunno, If I' gee it a tug can you see were'd t'other end is?"
