I had a lot of problems getting USB devices to work on my machine until recently.

My USB mouse was fine but nothing else would function - devices were detected but that was it. I thought my printer was knackered until I tried a digital camera and that was the same.

I also found that when I plugged in one of the new MS keyboards with built-in USB hub and plugged devices into that, the mouse stopped working as soon as my digital camera was plugged in.

Deciding it was a problem with the motherboard (an ASUS P2B-DS, dual-proc, SCSI), I changed it for a spare one (!) that I had lying around.

This made absolutely no difference whatsoever.

So, as a last resource, I bought a Belkin USB card from PCWorld and plugged that in. Hey presto! No more USB problems.

Perhaps your problem is similar?

I have just acquired a USB WinTV unit, when I plug it into one of the USB ports the PC reboots, if I plug it in the other one the mouse freezes.

Any suggestions
