RS422 uses separate pairs for balanced distribution of Tx and Rx  from 1
driver to upto 10 recievers

RS485 uses a single pair for bidirectional data transfer with upto 32
devices on a databus although some manufaturers now have chips which can
have as many as 256 devices on the bus.
