Hi Nigel,

Sadly I dont have any HiFi kit with digital connections. If I did I would
have already prototyped a unit to distribute the signal in the digital
domain rather than analogue.
Dont worry, that idea has already been considered. :-))

Thinking about it....I am sure I have a CD Rom drive with Digital output
and
a motherboard with a digital SPDIF input. I could use that to prototype and
then ask for a guinea pig from the list to be the first to try a long
distance digital connection on their expensive kit.

BTW. Continuing the "Audiophile interconnects" thread a little, a
mathmatical question for you.....What is half of 995?

There is a pair of phono leads in a presentation box for 995-00UKP
The digital interconnect is a SINGLE identical lead (from the description
and picture) but no mention of the presentation case. (Also states it is
good for Video connection which is strange as that is an analogue signal!!)

Answer....
A single lead is 600-00UKP.

And I thought I had a fairly good grasp of maths :-))

Agreed 110%! At least for now. MP3 decoders are actually getting _very_
cheap, but if you've run cat-5 for audio, you might be able to use the same
cable for digital audio and video in future. That'll be the Kat-5 plus,
right Keith?
