It's the documentation and help from Andrew that has impressed me so far-
the other security systems with HA clagged on don't even seem to come close
to what it can do- are there other similar systems out there, or is it
really 'one of a kind'?

I presume from their X-10 prices that they are buying their X-10 kit from
Laser though... and not getting much of a discount from them ;-]

It's quite a hard trade-off. Like most old houses, all my doors have the
hinges on the edge that is not in the corner of the room, so you are shaded
from one corner as you walk into the room. The corner above your head is
one of the ones pointing at the window, as is the corner at the other end
of the wall, and the remaining corner has the sensor pointing straight at
you, so it's at its least sensitive- great huh? So I can have

1) Good pickup, false alarms from window
2) OK pickup, false alarms from window
3) Shaded by door, OK for security
or 4) Poor sensitivity, not shaded by door

I think I'm thinking too much... 3) will probably win...
