Do you really mean a BNC input, or do you mean a composite video on a phono
jack?

BNC video is possible, but very unusual. Specifically, I've never seen a
VCR which had such an input, but seen plenty with composite video on a
phono. (In fact, I've only ever seen it on projectors or high end CAD
monitors.)


You don't say how you what kind of output the camera has. From what you are
writing, I am guessing that the camera has a composite video out, which you
are either plugging directly into the composite in, alternatively plugging
into an external
convertor to make it feed onto the SCART. If this is the case, then I'd
look at the convertor with suspicion - it may be that something as simple
as washing the pins with raw alcohol will clean the connector pins and all
will be well.

If, on the other hand, the camera has a SCART out, and you're using a SCART
lead, then I'm flummoxed.

I have a question about CCTV (composite) via a SCART and wonder if any one
can help.

I have a CCTV which I wish to record to a domestic VHS video recorder. The
VHS has a SCART socket and a BNC Video In socket.

When I "plug" the CCTV feed into the VHS via the SCART, the
quality is
fuzzy.

When I "plug" the CCTV feed into the VHS via the BNC, the quality
is good.
This is also true of my Camcorder.

I really want to use the SCART and not the BNC (for other reasons). I have
asked various places (TV repair specialists etc) and they all say that the
SCART pin should be the same as the BNC socket and therefore cannot explain
the problem.

As any one got any ideas?
