The 4700 was replaced by the 4800, which is the lower model of the 6800
(4.3Mpixel vs 6Mpixel).  The 6900 is an SLR style camera with 6x optical
zoom, and the CCD from the 6800.  It is a higher pixel count version of the
4900.  I've heard great reviews about this camera, and the above
observations are not obsolete, as the cameras are technically similar (AFAI
am aware).  I shall be purchasing a 4900 as my next camera after a
photographer friend recommended it (I don't require or want 6Mpixel).
